Do I have to show texas state, State income (salary, wages and tips) in 2008 W-2 Box 15 and Box 16? - why is box 16 on w-2 larger than box 1
I have 2008 with W2 BOX 1 Federal income (wages, salaries and tips) of 72K, Box 15, CA, Box 16 Income Tax for CA than 55K, Box 17 State taxes of 55K for CA, because I worked in California by 15 September 2008. and then I moved to Texas and worked for 15 September 2008 to 31 December 2008. But in Texas there is no information in section 15, section 16 and section 17 of the W2 my 2008th
My question is, MY 2008 W2 is correct or not? Your employer must show the state of TX and TX state revenue (wages, salaries and tips) in box 15 and box 16, 2008) for W2 TX (Texas has no state taxes.

You are correct. Because Texas has no state tax is not required to report sales of Texas.
